~Name: Anise Marie Riordan
~Nicknames: No, none.
~Age: 16
~DoB/PoB: Novermber 28/Allaera, Adeth, in the palace
~Occupation: Nothing outside of the typical noble daughter looking for a marriage. She really hates it.
~Status: The Riordans have a seat on the council, which makes them somewhat powerful, but inr eality, they don't
have much say at court. They're comfortably rich (by noble-standards), and pretty safe in politics, but they're not uber-powerful,
and don't really want to be.
~Appearance:
-Hair: Her hair is a dark brown, and very straight, though it can curl when
she bothers to do it (never). It's usually held back in a braid or a plain tail, but it can sometimes
be seen down, and hangs a little past her mid-back.
-Eyes: They're a plain hazel color,
with perhaps more dark brown in them than green, though. They're very slightly slanted upwards, but not too noticably.
-Features: She's pretty in a harsh, raw-boned sort of way. Her cheekbones and jawline are
very strong, but her nose is slightly snubbed. Her mouth is full, but rarely given to smiling.
-Body: Pretty tall for a girl, at about 5'8. She has very little curves to speak
of, and probably won't be getting too much at all as she grows older, but she's not a complete stick. She has
mostly only muscle on her - a rather inappropriate amount, in fact, considering she's a girl - and usually has a few bruises
and cuts all over the place. All the same, it's a nice body, for an athletic girl.
-Clothing: Simple, always. She generally wears breeches and shirts that are rarely fully-tied,
and she tends to get looks from guys about this. When she can be forced into dresses, they're more suited to a merchant daughter
than someone from her social standing.
~Jewelry/Weapons: Absolutely none. Her ears are pierced, but she rarely
wears anything and they will probably close up while she's at Whispers without her mother around to tell her to put earrings
in/She keeps a knife in her boot, but as a girl, she can't openly carry anything outside of her lessons.
~Personality: She's very very realistic, down-to-earth, and pretty pessimisstic. She's very blunt, and prefers
to confront everything head-on. She's also very intelligent, with mostly perfect grades in all her classes. She's hard-working,
and a bit of a perfectionist. She's very much a tomboy, and while she's not innocent, the fact that she is a girl and can
attract romantic attention just doesn't click with her. If a guy were to try and flirt with her, she wouldn't respond, or
even get flustered - just blink and change the subject. Sometimes doesn't really see herself as a girl, either, though this
is more in the 'if you can do it, why can't I' way. She also resents the roles of girls in court, and tends to get rather
angry when her mother lectures her for acting 'unlady like'. Growing up at court, she understands politics, and while she
doesn't use them, it doens't mean she can't.
~Strengths: She's very smart. Near perfect grades, and most of the teachers love her. She also has a good head
for military tactics and such, her father being who he is. She's a mostly friendly girl, and can take any secret to the grave
if she so chooses. She has an iron will - which can also sometimes be a problem - and will back anything she believes in to
the best of her ability. She rarely gives anything but her best. She'll defend her friends to the death. She also can fight
with the sword and dagger very well, and can also ride and shoot - thanks to her brother and father, and against her mother's
protests.
~Weakness: Her sense of humour is somewhat lacking. It's very dry, and sometimes kind of morbid. She -hates-
literature, and cannot for the life of her understand poetry. it just...doesn't click. She's easily annoyed and gets a little
snappy when she is. She will rarely use her imagination. She has a foul mouth that tends to get her in trouble, and doesn't
give a wit about her reputation. She has very little patience, and cannot tolerate any kind of stupidity. Even though she
knows she's going to have to grow up and be married off, she's struggling against it. She can sometimes seem cruel without
meaning to.
~Magic: Not a bit.
~Random Facts: Her father 'donated' a little extra with her tuition, and because of that, she's one of only
two girls taking fencing, and the only one taking tatics/strategy. Anise also has something of a bad habit leaving her
shirt semi-unlaced, showing a scandalous amount of cleavage. She doesn't do this to attract attention, she just finds it more
comfortable, and often forgets she probably shouldn't be doing it.
~Friends: Kenneth, kind of sort of Rory.
~Enemies: Kind of sort of Rory, Tegan, Lucrezia.
~Significant Other: Are you joking?
~Family: From the Riordan family, a long line of military leaders. Pretty wealthy, not too powerful in politics,
but they have a place at Court. Her father holds lands near the northeast.
-Father: Orick Riordan (52) - one of the kings advisors. Not uber-powerful, but he's not really there for
politics and diplomacy anyway. Finds Anise's antics amusing, and encourages her in the less lady-like things.
-Mother: Lady Adalia Castille (37) - caring and honestly wants what's good for her children. Tends to despair
over Anise, but she loves her all the same. Handles politics FAR better than her husband, even though she is a slightly lesser
noble.
-Brothers: Cordell (17) - will eventually take his fathers place on the council. He has yet to see real
combat, though, which is why right now he's still considered to be 'learning'. He helped teach Anise how to fight, even though
their mother lectured him for it. He's an easy-going guy, and Anise loves him to death.
William
(14) - sweet kid, and he acts older than he is. Absolutely adores Anise.
~History: She was born in the Palace, and grew up with a slightly normal childhood. Being the only girl-child
in her family, she had a more rough-and-tumble life, and sometimes amused the court with her antics with the guards she tended
to run off with into the city. Her brother and father taught her how to fight, and she'd challenge the guards-in-training
to duels (and won a few them, too) when she got bored. Now she's older, though, her mother sent her off to Whispers to learn
how to be a proper lady. This didn't work too well, though, considering her father let her take tactics and fencing classes.
